Getting ready for your lessons for the week? Here’s a handy infographic from RED Driving School with some road safety stats for young people. The Grand Theft Auto inspired graphic includes statistics about 16-24 year-olds from UK and the US. In the colourful infographic you can find statistics from the road safety charity, Brakes, the Department of Transport and RED Driving School’s own surveys plus others. Here’s a snapshot of some of the statistics included in the graphic:

  • There is an average of 3,000 road accident fatalities in the UK each year
  • That’s almost eight per day!
  • Did you know you are seven times more likely to be in a road accident between 2am and 5pm
  • Since the seatbelt law was introduced in 1983 it is thought that more than 50,000 lives have been saved in the UK
