How many hours do you spend sat in your car each day? If you find it hard to get time to go for a run or to a gym then these quick exercises will help you stretch and feel refreshed in between lessons and tests.

Here are some easy to follow exercises to get the blood pumping around your body and to give you a burst of energy.

Breathe in, breathe out

You’re doing this right now, I know but there’s a technique that can help give you a burst of oxygen. If you breathe in for five and then slowly breathe out this can actually be a beneficial exercise technique.

Squeeze and clench

This is great if you stick on your favourite CD or radio station. Simply squeeze your glutes together along with the music for a count of five then release and repeat this until the end of the song. You will then feel the abdominal and buttocks areas tighten. Try this for three songs for an instant workout.

Tension tackling

Whilst you’re waiting to pick up a learner or sat at the traffic lights try this one. Tilt your right ear down towards your right shoulder. Relax your shoulders and breathe into the left side of your neck stretching it out. Hold for 10 seconds. At the next traffic lights, repeat on the other side.
