Next Monday (18 November), dozens of approved driving instructors will get the chance to practice the incoming standards check using cars provided by Hitachi Capital Driving Instructor Solutions at the DIA Professional Development Day. Find out more…
Around 100 driving instructors are expected to attend the day at the Motor Heritage Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire. They will spend the day with the DIA education and Ttaining team, Olivia Baldock and Howard Redwood, who will take them through a series of driving workshops.
The in-car workshop will involve a set of role play sessions that will give instructors a chance to work together to learn more about the standards check which is set to run from April 2014.
HCDIS will be sponsoring the workshop by providing 8 cars on the day to be used for the workshop.
Instructors will be able to test drive a range of the vehicles from Hitachi’s fleet including the Fiesta Zetec which has a special Christmas bonus attached to it if you get a new contract before the end of January.
As well as the in-car workshop, instructors will learn about risk management and teaching strategies.
There will also be a range of key speakers including DSA Chief Executive Alastair Peoples and Registrar Mark Magee and world leading expert on coaching within driver education, Ian Edwards.
